Wish List/Recent Purchases/Suggestions

I am so shocked and disappointed with myself for not updating my Wish List since the new Kindle Fire was made public.  So, here goes...

I WANT A KINDLE FIRE

And, if I ever get a Kindle Fire I would have to have a cover to go with it.

I recently made some purchases!

I finally got my food slicer and some attachments for my mixer.  I'm so excited to get them.  Any day now...

Now, I'm going to add to my wish list.  But this time, it's not what I want but what my daughter wants.  She loves to read and I love that she loves to read.

She owns and has read:
AND

So now she wants the third and last book in the series:

But she's having trouble deciding.  She has also started The Guardians of Ga'Hoole and has read five from the series.

The next ones in the series are:

I haven't been posting much but I have still been "screen" shopping.

I REALLY want one of these:

The price is pretty good and so are the reviews.  It's had over 300 reviews and it's still up in the 4 star range.  If the hubby will allow it, I'm going to order this sucker TONIGHT.  Chances are, I'm going to have to wait, but I can always dream.  That's the whole point of "screen" shopping, anyway.

Of course, I still want to get this stuff but I think I'll wait on these if I can get the food slicer.

Here I am again - adding to the list.  Except, this is one of the few times I'm going to buy the item listed as soon as I list it.  It's only 99¢!

Okay, the girl in me is coming out!  I was window shopping for shoes - imagine that.  Some of you might think I'm crazy but some of you will say the same thing I did... "Oooooh, I want those."

I haven't posted to this page for a long time!

I've made some new purchases and my wish list is growing.

I recently bought and read:

I really enjoyed it!  I even did a recently read post for it.  You can find it HERE.

Also, I picked up:

This is a short novella that I enjoyed as well.  I hope to do a recently read post for this one soon.

Something I've been wanting to buy for a while is:

I'd love to have this on my Kindle, but I'm also considering checking to see if it's available at Audible.com

I love window shopping on Amazon!  I still have money left from Christmas too so I'm going to do a little more window shopping and share my finds with you.

Today, I'm going to shop for Kindle 3 covers, skins and sleeves.  Yes, we already have a cover but it's still fun to look at them.

Skins - They fit snug to your Kindle and, if you buy the right ones, can be used with or without a cover or sleeve.
This is a pretty and girly design I found!
  I really like this design!
There are some really neat designs for skins out there!

Sleeves - These are essentially a "bag" that you slide your Kindle in when you aren't using it.  I have one for my DX that my husband bought for me.  It isn't specific for the Kindle so I rarely use it since I got my cover, though a sleeve can be exactly what you might want.

If I were going to buy a sleeve, this just might be the one!  It looks like it might double as a cover and you don't have to pull your Kindle in and out every time you want to use it.  Plus, it just looks nice.

Covers - Covers are what I would recommend.  If you get a good one it should protect the entire Kindle, including the screen, unlike skins.  The sleeves will also protect your screen, but I am concerned about scratching my Kindle if I have to pull it in and out of a sleeve repeatedly.
If I were in the market for a cover, this might be the one.  Though it is $34.99 brand new, you can find it from other sellers for less.  Also it has the clips that will hold it onto your Kindle because it comes from Amazon.  Just be sure to NEVER open it from the back because it can crack your Kindle case if you do this.  I have done this with my cover (which is similar to this one) before I read all the instructions.  Thank goodness it didn't break my Kindle but I did notice how the cracking of the Kindle can be possible.
This one is only $13.61 right now, but I'm not sure if it will fit the Kindle 3 - might only be for the Kindle 2.  Make sure it'll fit your Kindle version!

This just a small sampling of what is out there.  If you want to search on your own you can click the links below:

Kindle Books

My daughter and I went on a shopping spree at Amazon not that long ago.  We ordered a cover/case for her Kindle 3 a book light and a hardcover book.  Everything has come in and she loves it all.

We received the cover for the Kindle 3!  It's perfect.  The interior is orange suede.  (I love orange)  But Alexandra loves the cover too so that's the important part.

We've also received the book light and she loves it.

She has already started reading!  I love it when she gets annoyed at me when I interrupt her reading.  Might teach her to leave me alone when I'm reading?  Probably not.

Now I'm going to list the items I've gotten for myself and have enjoyed or expect to enjoy.

I recently started reading author LK Rigel.  Her first book, Space Junque (In Flagrante Apocalypto 1), is what I would put on the genre bender list.  It has a touch of SciFi/Fantasy/Romace all blended well together.  AND It's only 99 cents!  I also bought her latest, Spiderwork (In Flagrante Apocalypto 2), for only $2.99.  I've not yet started that one though but hope to get to it soon.

I'm always telling people about Karen Cantwell's books so why should I stop now.  If you get the chance you really should pick up Take the Monkeys and Run (A Barbara Marr Murder Mystery)and The Chronicles of Marr-nia (Short Stories Starring Barbara Marr) they are both only 99 cents for Kindle.

I've recently finished Crescent Rising (Ryan Black Thriller)
by Zach Hamric and liked it enough to buy Blank Slate (A Kyle Jackle Thriller).

The book I'm currently reading on my Kindle is The Hunger Games.  Right now it's $5.00 but I can't remember what we paid for it.  I'm only about 15% done with the book but I'm really enjoying it.  There are three books in this series.

Non book related items I'm hoping to get my hands on are:

I'm really kicking myself right about now.  Both of these were on sale just the other day and I hemmed and hawed and now they are back up in price to over $40.  Oh well, guess I'll have to pay the higher price or wait to see if they go back down!
