$100 Gift Card Giveaway from Sandra Edwards

Today I'm going to share a contest/giveaway.  It has been quite a while since I've done this, but I couldn't pass this one up.

Not only does it give the reader a chance to win either a $100 Amazon or $100 Barnes & Noble gift card, it helps a fellow author get the honest reviews she needs.

Sandra Edwards is hosting this giveaway mainly from her Facebook page.  You can find her Facebook page here:  https://www.facebook.com/SandraEdwards.Author

Below, you will find her exact post as you can see it on her page.

I’ve decided to run a contest for all my readers out there!

GRAND PRIZE: $100 gift certificate from Amazon.com or BN.com.

TO ENTER, all you need to do is review one (or all) of my books—the review can be good or bad, it doesn’t matter—so long as it’s your honest opinion about the book.

Post your review anywhere online (i.e., Amazon.com, BN.com, Goodreads, your blog, or any other place you can think of), then send me a message via Facebook or email and let me know where you posted the review.

You’ll get one entry per site where you’ve posted your review. So, the more places you post, and the more books you review, the more chances you have to win! Posting your review to online bookstores like Amazon.com and BN.com gets two entries per review.

If you’ve already posted a review for any of my books at Amazon, BN, etc, just message me and let me know where the reviews are posted and you'll be entered into the contest. Copy and paste those reviews to other sites for more chances to win.

Spreading the word is encouraged!

Contest ends May 10th. Winner will be chosen via Random.org. Winner will be notified via email and will be announced on my Facebook fan page and at my website by May 15th.

Fifty Shades of Grey vs. Shades of Grey

VS.

I have seen a run on sales this month for my second book in The Alexis Stanton Chronicles, Shades of Grey.  This never happens and I thought for a fleeting second that maybe, just maybe, I was getting noticed by a larger audience.

(I'm not at all complaining about my current audience - I have made more friends because of my books than I ever thought possible - it's just quite intimate and I don't need to hire someone to go through my email like some famous authors do.)

So, being me, I started trying to figure out what was really going on.  Why in the world was I making so many sales - and for my second book in the series?

Well, I found my answer.  There is a book titled Fifty Shades of Grey that has gone viral.  It was written up in the NY Times and I think it was on the Today show - one of those big morning shows.

This explains why my sales have seen such a huge boost.  But, I'm concerned.  What if all these people downloading and buying my paperbacks (yes, my paperbacks have seen a huge jump as well) think they are buying this other title?  I don't want to disappoint, even if it is no fault of mine.

Fifty Shades of Grey is an erotica book and mine is NOT.  Yes, there is a bit of tension in my books, but nothing that could be considered erotica.  My dad reads my books!

I have to admit, this push has been fun and I even made Amazon's Movers and Shakers list.
I've decided to put the two books up here for comparison - just because.  I don't post erotica to my blog (as a general rule) but the cover to Fifty Shades of Grey isn't at all racy but be warned - I have not read this title and from what I've heard, it is not appropriate for under 18.

Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time. Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

No Camera = No Proof

The kids broke my camera and I'm finding all kinds of things I want to take pictures of and post to my blog. It's a sad thing.

For example, I had a book signing this past Saturday and I would have loved to taken pictures and post them everywhere.  But, no such luck.

Also, I ordered a hardcover copy of Color Me Grey.  You KNOW I want to post pictures of that baby everywhere.  Again, no camera, no picture.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous around here. Things are beginning to turn green and I'd love to be out taking pictures.  Nope.  Can't do it.

I've made a few different dinner dishes and desserts I would have liked to show off.  The kids, though destructive, are so cute and constantly dirty.
I recently saw a bald eagle on the side of the road.
And the list goes on.

Why is it, when we don't have something, we really want it or need it?
