Featured Book - A Fleet in Being: The Austro-Hungarian Navy in WWI

A Fleet in Being:
The Austro-Hungarian Navy in WWI
by
Russell Phillips

Description

The Kaiserliche und K├Ânigliche Kriegsmarine -- The Austro-Hungarian Navy -- was in at the beginning of World War I when Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie lay in state abord its flagship, and at the end when it dissolved along with the empire that commanded it. During the war, this small but powerful "fleet in being" forced the Allies to maintain a blockade of the Otranto Straits. German and Austro-Hungarian u-boats ran riot elsewhere in the Mediterranean even though the capital ships almost never left port.

Illustrated with thirty photographs and drawings, this book provides a comprehensive and detailed listing of the ships that made up the KuK Kriegsmarine, its operations, and the unique problems this unusual fleet faced, from contentious dueling parliaments to ships built by landlocked Hungary.

Playing Catch Up & New Covers

I haven't posted here for a while.  I've been having computer problems and I still don't have access to my iPhoto.  That sucks because we got some pictures of the recent lunar eclipse.

But, I do have some book submissions coming up in the next couple of days and some exciting news.  I'm taking today for the news because I didn't post first thing this morning and want to give the up coming books a full days worth of blog time.

So... Some of you might know that I've been waiting for new covers.  Well... I got them!  Most of you probably already know this because I've Facebooked the heck out of them.

Here they are!

These are just the front covers.  The backs are just as awesome and I love that they all look very similar so you can tell they are a series.

I haven't put together an omnibus yet but think I will do it sometime near the beginning of next year.  Next year... It never fails to make me think that's a long time from whenever I say it, but it's less than a month away.

Also, I will be joining three other authors for a book signing this Thursday (December 15th) at the Sturgis Public Library from 5PM to 7PM.  The other authors are:
Jorie Jertson

Dianna Young

Sandra Brannan
